Aquatopia Aquarium

Aquatopia, an aquarium located in Antwerp, Belgium came to G+A in association with Terry Heard Designers, to develop of a full branding program, environmental graphic design of both the interior and exterior of the facility, wayfinding signage, advertising, information and multimedia design. The branding solution for Aquatopia expresses the fun, excitement and mysteries of the deep.

Each application in every medium uses vivid colours, is entertaining and diverse, and highlights some of the major species visitors will encounter in the aquarium. From patterned wall graphics to floor roundels of iconic images, each piece was designed to add colour, give visitors a sense of place, and to provide context within the facility.

The branding solution for Aquatopia extended to transit and print advertising throughout Antwerp to establish the new attraction’s name and brand recognition.

Arts 2000

Arts 2000, the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts’ national exhibition and sale of Canadian visual arts, crafts, and design, was a part of the Millennium Fund initiatives sponsored by the Government of Canada. The Royal Canadian Academy of Arts is an honourary, non-profit organization of more than 790 established professional artists and designers from all regions of Canada, practicing more than 30 visual arts disciplines.

Gottschalk+Ash created an identity for Arts2000 which symbolizes creativity in the visual arts — combining the artist’s eye for seeing and the hand for creating — which proved to be an excellent marketing tool for promoting the event and attracting corporate sponsorship.
